Jens Peder Jensen and family lived in Utah, Juab, Nephi, according to the 1880 census. They arrived in the U.S aboard the ship Wyoming from Liverpool, England and Queenstown, Ireland on September 25, 1878. They were Mormons. In the 1880 U. S census - Utah their names were changed as follows: Jens Peter Jensen - JP Jensen 33 Kirstine Marie - Catherina 31 Jorgen Peder - Peter Hedvig Kirstine - Christine 7 Wilhelmine - Wilhelmina 5 Marie - name did not change 3 Nicolenea, Utah born 1 JP was a brother to Troels Christian Jensen, my husband's greatgrandfather. The brothers were sons of Jens Andersen and Kirsten Jensdatter, along with other children. JP was born in Fjends, Vroue, Denmark in 1847. Christian was born Fjends, Vroue, Denmark in 1851. Troels Jensen's first trip to the US is unknown. His second trip with his wife and sons was aboard the SS State of Nevada from Glasgow arriving Aug. 21, 1884. They lived awhile in Omaha before traveling on to Utah, where Troels died. His widow and sons returned to Nebraska. She died in 1894. If you could help us find JP's family or relatives in Denmark, we would be so grateful. Thank you. Sylvia Brady Notify Administrator about this message?
