Hanna's and the silver rush -Silver City Nevada
Posted by: Glen Hewitt Date: May 20, 1998 at 11:00:40

Two Hanna's went down from Kirkton Ontario, Canada to the silver rush in Nevada.
John Hanna went down first. He sent a few letters home but was never heard from in Kirkton
again. His brother William went down to Silver City to look for him and became involved in the silver
rush himself. He died in or near Silver City due to being crushed in a mine collaps.
A letter(edged in black) was sent from Silver City announcing the death to the remaining family in
Kirkton. If anyone can shed more light on this subject(ie. know of the place that either men are buried etc.)
please e-mail me.
