I am looking for info on John Calvin Mathis born in Indiana Jan 1852 to Charles and Isabel Mathis. John has a brother named Thomas R. Mathis. Charles died and Isabel remarried. The boys didnt get along with their step father and he treated them mean. So they ran away to St. Louis and joined a wagon train going west. The next bit of info I have is their moms obit, it states that John lived in Goldfield Nevada and that Thomas lived in South Dakota. It could have been the other way around, I dont believe that the family had much contact with the boys. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The info mentioned is all the info I have on either one of them.. Wendy
