LYMAN NUTTING FAMILY

I’ve tried at length to relate David G. Nutting of Temple NH and Reading VT to the Groton Massachusetts Nuttings; many thanks to Jamie Fink and Janet Murray for providing the connection.(I come slow to the internet.) Comments:
Yes, births of Lyman N. (b. 4 May 1799) and his sister Rebecca (4 Aug 1800) were recorded in Roxbury VT.But that was because their father David Nutting recorded his five children there all at once in 1806.Lyman and Rebecca were in fact born in Reading VT.From Rebecca (my g-g-grandmother) we have a copy from a family Bible and other family history recording her birthplace.A David Nutting’s household in the 1790 census for Reading, p. 40, has 2 males 16 or older, 2 males younger than 16, and 4 females.Presumably this was the household of David G. Nutting (who with Judith produced Richard 30 July 1792 in Reading; Richard died 27 Feb 1793).David and Rebecca’s other three children, Eldad and Harriet and probably Judith were born in Roxbury.
The marriage date of David G. Nutting and Judith Townsend, both of Temple, was 14 July 1773 in Temple, New Hampshire.
The Nuttings were in Roxbury in 1830: the D. Nutting household included 1 male 70-80, 1 female 60-70, and 1 male 30-40 (p. 282); Lyman’s sister Rebecca (Nutting) Tinkham and family are on p. 281 (having moved to Roxbury from Waitsfield in the early 1820s).About 1830-32 Rebecca’s family and I think also Lyman’s moved to “Dickerson” NY (presumably Dickinson in western Franklin County), then by 1835 to Pierrepont in St. Lawrence County NY, then by 1843 (now definitely including Lyman’s as well as Rebecca’s family) to the southwestern part of Canton Township, St. Lawrence County. There I lose Lyman.
Jacob and Rebecca (Nutting) Tinkham moved on to Illinois in about 1845 and then in 1846 to Sauk County, WI, where Jacob bought government land in Section 3 of Excelsior Township and farmed it until 1870.Jacob died 24 November 1871 at his daughter Violette Tinkham Parmater’s in Akron, Tuscola Co., MI; Rebecca moved from there with her daughter to a frontier farm in Otsego County MI where she died 22 Sep 1881.
I have many more data for the Tinkhams.
