What I know about Christiaana Nutter is that she was born on 12/12/1818 in Delaware (I don't know where.) She moved to PA through West Virginia. Then she moved into Ohio and married Thomas Green on 4/12/1845 in Hocking, OH. She and Thomas and kids show up in the 1850 census in Harrison Twp, Pickaway Co. Ohio, and in the 1860 census, in York Twp, Carroll Co, IL, and in the 1870 census, in Salem Twy, Carroll Co, IL. In the 1880 census they were all living in Strombsburg Precinct, Polk Co, NE.

I admit I was and still am not very good at recording all the info I find, or not being consistent, so I can’t recall or find how I knew that she moved in West Virginia (Virginia at that time) and into PA. On her son’s marriage information, it gives her maiden name (Nutter) and place of birth as being DE. The birth and death dates I got from her tombstone in NE.

This has been a really frustrating search, probably because of her being a woman and also because of the lack of census records listing family member names before 1850. So, any info you could share on how you found your Nutter would be helpful, I’m sure.

Thanks.
