I have a gggrandmother, named Eliza. Nutter, b ABT 1829 who was a widow married Shadrack Cottrill, May 18, 1854 in Harrison Cty, VA. Eliz Nutter Cottrill was the dau. of Thomas and Mary (Polly) Pritchard Nutter. My grandmother, Frances Ann was Shadrack & Eliza. dau. Eliza could not have been a Rev.War widow, since she was not born until ABT 1829. and died in 1916 in Harrison Cty, WV At the time she married Shadrack she was 24 yrs, 6 mos old. Her family is descended from the Christopher Nutter Clan that first settled in Somerset Cty, MD in 1702. If you look at Tonda Norris message on this web site you can gain a wealth of information. The Nutter Clan built a fort in Harrison Cty, VA which is not Nutter's Fort, WV. I hope this will provide you with additional research tools. Good luck.
