That makes your mom either Laura, Linda, Janice or Sheila?

Here is what I have (pretty much your mother's entire family history):

I have Ada Sevilla Mingo from Nova Scotia married
Charles Stewart from Illinois.

Ada, sometimes spelled Adah, had many many sisters and brothers and that entire line has been completed if you want the info. (Her mother was Susan Harrington and her father was Levi Mingo, both of Denmark, Nova Scotia).

Ada and Charles Stewart of Boston, MA had the following children:

Not in correct order

Gladys Stewart (married a Grant. No children)

Gertrude Stewart (married first Robert Annis, had two children, Robert and Dorothy...Dorothy still alive. Married Scott Treamer, who adopted the first two and had after that Paul, and Scott, making 4)

Norman Stewart (who went west to Oregon and came back and stayed with his brother Clifford. Whereabouts and family information unkown at this time)

Clifford Stewart, who had a child Clifford D. Jr., and Richard Stewart (whom I have spoken to), as well as others.

And last but not least,

Aimee Stewart, who married Edmund V. Morrissey. I am not sure of all of her children yet. Aimee Morrissey, born 1906 and died Jan 2, 1972, and her husband Edmund V. Morrissey, born 1906, died Aug. 12, 1966, are buried together in one grave, along with another Michael J. Morrissey, born 1852, died May 16, 1925 (died at 73) at Mt. Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury, MA. Michael J. Morrissey probably is not Edmund V. Morrissey's father because he would have had him when he was 54, but who knows, stranger things have happened. He is probably the grandfather of Edmund V. Morrissey and they were not of means and used the same burial plot. All three are "on top" of each other in one grave. I don't know.

However, she is the subject of my research. I do know that she had the following children and I do know that she had MORE than the following children, I just don't know who yet.

Anne Marie Morrissey (Barker)
John J. Morrissey
Catharine Morrissey, (Dennett I believe now)
Edmynd V. Morrissey (not sure about this one, but every other generation had one, so why not!)
Charles Michael Morrissey

Now, Charles Michael Morrissey married Janice P., both currently deceased, with some connection to Nashua, NH.

Charles M. Morrissey and Janice P. had the following children, but may have had more.

Edmund Morrissey - Weymouth?
Paula Morrissey (now Nuttall) - Dorchester
Laura Morrissey - Nashua, NH
Michael Morrissey - South Boston
Linda Lopez - Nashua, NH
Shella or Sheila Morrissey (now Eaton) - South Boston
Janice Morrissey - Lawrence

I have Paula Nuttall's address and am thinking about calling her. The only way to reach her is to have the operator call her and have her call me! Or send her a Fedex with information on the family and hope she remembers something or has family photos from the Aimee Stewart Morrissey era.

I am trying to find a connection between Aimee Stewart Morrissey, your great grandmother, and my aunt Mary Ann. Your Great grandmother on your mother's side, Aimee Stewart Morrissey, was most likely the mother of one Dorothy Mae, born to Aimee when she was only 15 years old at 118 Shawmut Avenue, Boston, MA. Dorothy Mae was under Aimee's care, at home, until she left Dorothy with her mother, your great great grandmother Adah Stewart, and went off and married Edmund Morrissey.

Aimee was not originally Catholic and I have records indicating that Adah and Charles were not Catholic. There were two children in the family who married Catholic and one of them was then completely ostracized by Ada and Charles and basically disowned. I can't tell if one of them was Aimee, but I can tell you that her brother Clifford, who married one Katharine L (can't remember her last name right now) was one of them. I spoke to Clifford's son last week who said that his father never told him anything about the family but did say that because he converted to Catholicism to marry his mother, he never met nor knows anyone from the family except having met his Uncle Norman a few times when he would come in from Oregon. Doesn't know what happened to him.

So, your mother and your Aunt Paula have a cousin, Richard Stewart, that they probably have no idea! Also, they have an Aunt Dorothy Stewart, alive and well and living in an apartment on her own (even though she was 80 in July), who has pictures and other artifacts of your family, including original birth certificates and marraige docs for Ada Mingo and Charles Stewart!

How cool. Email if you want directly. LHickman@ecorp-real-estate.com and I will share with you other stuff that is too personal to put in here.

Which one is your mother?

Letitia
Torrance, CA
