Hi Andy
Now I am confused.
The way I went down the tree is .My G Grandmother Maria
born 1900 died 1992 father George Nutton I have Certificates,Asumed father was in his early 20's so Looked for George Nutton in 1881 census
I found
Arthur Nutton head21
Margaret Wife18
Georgeson2
4659/ 17-28
1871Censusno Arthur Nutton aged 11 but
Arthur J 12brn Sheffield
GeorgeNUTTALL36brn Hathersage
Sarah A30sheffield
Charlotte H 14''
Sarah E1''
4681/169F
1861NUTTALL
George27brn Hathersage
Sarah A20Sheff
Charlotte H4''
WilliamH1''
Arthur3''
3484/12
1851
George NUTTALL 16 brn Hathersage
2336/ 222B
1841Not there
This all fits so far By 1881 Arthur has left home to raise his Family
Then I Find
1881
George HHead46Steel Warehousemanbrn Hathersage
Sara Annwife41sheffield
Sara EllenDau11Sheffield
AdaDau5''
Charlotte BOONS (NUTTALL) GDau 5''
40 Brightmoore Street Sheffield 4649/68 - 19
and it still looks ok.
This is where it falls apart I Found George in the 1901 Census with Daughter Mariaand he's 36 what a blow I never noticed until you mentioned the ages it doesn't fit G G Grandfather George was born in 1865.
So it seems none of the above are mine what a dissapointment.Although it did get me thinking2 George NUTTALLs born Hathersagefinished up in sheffield with children of the same name is this a coincidence because on my 1881 return Charlotte H was missing but what could be her daughter is there, but on your census return you said all three were there, I don't know what to make of this.
They may then turn out to be mine, i'm going to the archives on tuesday i will have to have another look at the census returns if i find anything i will let you know
Jayne
