Nutley, Joseph C1878, Brighton ENG, Any trace?

Hi!

Need help, tying to find a Joseph Nutley, believed born Brighton around 1878-1881. I can find no trace. Family folklore says a part of the family may have been members of The Countess of Huntingdon, group. I can find no record in the 1881 census, or a listing in the GRO. Has anyone got a Joseph around this time. Or have any ideas as to where I can look. He did come from a large family. He is known to have retired as a Regimental Sargeant Major in 1918, but unfortunatly I do not know from which unit.

Many thanks

Ian N
