Nussbaum - always Jewish origin?

People relate to Nussbaum as a purely Jewish-German name. Is it so? Is it always of Jewish origins? I've made a search in Germany phone book, and I found 4461 entries, which puts in doubt its being Jewish.
Please help. thanks.
