Nourse family, New York, late 1800's
I am looking for information, and maybe someone out there can fill in the blanks. According to my Grandfather Tully Arthur Nourse, His father John Nourse was from upstate New York in the late 1800's. He moved to Chanute Kansas and that is where my Grandfather was born around 1909. My Grandfather came to Oklahoma in the mid 1920's to work in the oil field. My Father Bill Eugene Nourse was born in Siminole Oklahoma in 1929.
My Great Grandfather was supposed to have brothers, maybe sisters. I had anUncle who fought in the Civil War, in the Union Army but I do not know his name. For as long as I can remember, my Grandfather always told me that we were related to Rebecca Nurse. He also told me that our family originated from the Vikings. But he had no information about either of these stories. I have learned a lot from just reading these posts. It's very interesting. If anyone has any information about the Nourse family in Northen New York State around the late 1800's I would really appreciate it.
