I can't believe I found someone working on this line.....Mitchell was the son of John and Malinda Nunnery, both born in VA. They lived in Pike County, KY and their son, Mitchell's brother, Stephen Nunnery was my great-great grandfather. I have VERY LITTLE information on the Nunnery family...I've been unable to find John or Malinda's parents. My grandmother believed her to be a Mitchell, but that may be a memory of Steve's brother Mitchell - your ancestor. Or Mitchell could have been named after his mother's family.
Your Mitchell married Elizabeth Porter on March 14, 1850 in Pike or Floyd County, KY.
Email me so we can swap info!
