I would like to find out how my Nunnaley/Nunnally ties into the "Nelson W. Nunnally" branch. I understand that NWN spent much of his life in Perris, Edgar, IL and my GGGgrandfather Levi Marion Nunnaley was born there in 1887 - it seems like too much of a coincidence to ignore.

Levi Marion was the son of James A. Nunnaley and Katherine Flinn. The settlement of the estate of Katherine's father, Jacob B. Flinn confirms James' name, but I have never been able to establish his birthplace (likely Virginia about 1810) or parents.

The Flinn's migrated from North Carolina to Lee County Virginia about 1805 and then to Barren County, KY about 1807 to Lawrence,IN about 1811 and eventually to Edgar, IL.

While there is good reason to suggest a tie to the Nunnally family of Kentucky, I havefound no collaboration.

Can you shed any light?
