With a whole lot of help from other very kind Nunnelee/Nunnally researchers,I have at last proven my Nunnelee 2g-g/parents,3g-g/p, etc by legal documents. My upline begins:
g-g/f: Eugene Lavarsha Nunnelee 1847-1909
2g-g/p: Walter Nunnelee/Caroline Gresham
3g-g/p: Walter Nunnelee/Susannah Hubbard
4g-g/p: Wm Womack Nunnelee/Ann Franklin
------you all know the rest.
My 2g-g/parents divorced 31 Jan 1852 in Chambers Co Al. 2g-g/mother Caroline died in Tx- On 1870 Hill Co Tx census she was living with her daughter, Mrs Cornelia Caroline [Nunnelee] Burt.
2g-g/parents Walter & Caroline's proven chn by 1850-1860 Macon Co Al census: James W., Cornelia Caroline, William, John (CSA-enlisted in Ga), Mary, and my g-g/father E.L. who was their youngest child. There may have been older children born between 1829-1835 not shown on the 1850 Macon Co Al census...........?
As everyone assumed 2g-g/father Walter died before 1850 (instead of being divorced), I have not yet found him on an 1850 census or what happened to him.
