The prior message states, "It took 22 years to find my great-g/f because the 1850 census transcriber misread his first name completely."
I am that transcriber.First. I was NOT responsible for your 22 year hunt for your relative.I did not start Nunnally research until 1991.
Second.People like Joseph Adams Shortal and Jean Nunley Dennison were gracious to compile their own data, share it, offer answers, and publish materials. That made it possible for an individual like me to be able to unravel the VA>GA>AL lines.
Third. You have been handed your complete lineage back to CA 1640 in VA because researchers are willing to compile data and share it. Including, my personal and extensive research in AL records for those who left GA.
The misspelled name was identified. The data was corrected (which is what most researchers do) and full attribution has been given to you for clearing up the tail end of the AL line that you sought.
But I bloody well resent the statement in your posting,
"It took 22 years to find my great-g/f because the 1850 census transcriber misread his first name completely."
Yes, I did misread the name several years ago. I am NOT responsible for a 22 year delay in you identifying your lineage.
