This suggests Carleton was born c1787 in NC. BTW, one of the reasons the Nunn line may have left Orange/Craven NC for Chester SC was that William Nunn had been a neighbor/associate of the royal governor (Tryon I think) on some transactions. After the war, some people labeled "tories" left NC for the somewhat more friendly SC. Gary Notify Administrator about this message?
