Can we make a connection to our Wells surname and are we interpreting Lydia's name as Nugent and not NewJohn?
We are looking for any researchers in regards to the following:
Lydia Nugent first married to a John Wells who we believe died May 7, 1758.Lydia marries a Peter Chesley and a child Catherine Wells is baptized the same day as Lydia's marriage to Peter Chesley.
This is early New York with possibly some regimental connection as well.We are trying to determine if the John Wells was connected to the sponsors of Lydia child by Peter Chesley
