I am researching the parents of John "Francis" NUGENT. John married Elizabeth MCNAMEE in 1887. He was born Oct 1863 in St. Louis, MO and died 28 Aug 1915 in St. Louis. His father was most likely named John "Patrick" NUGENT.
John "Patrick" NUGENT immigrated to the US from Ireland before 1860 and he and his wife raised their family in St. Louis.
John "Francis" and Elizabeth's son, John "Patrick" NUGENT was born 31 Aug 1888 in St. Louis and died 10 Aug 1950 Valley Park, St. Louis, MO. He was married to Mary Elizabeth ADAMS in 1910.
The names "Patrick" and "Francis" were given on a rotating basis, at least as far back as the John from Ireland. I have more info on the descendants of John and Mary (Adams) Nugent.
Before he died, my grandfather, John Elmer NUGENT, said that his Nugent line came from County Cork, Ireland but that has not been proven.
Below is a link to an 1880 St. Louis census in which "Patrick" NUGENT was head of household. His wife Martha and children John and Martha are present. I believe this family is headed by John Patrick and the son, John, is John Francis my 2nd great grandfather.

Is anyone familiar with this family? Can anyone give me information on how to research my Irish Nugents based on the info I have discribed?
