I came across this board entry while looking for information of a Captain A.B. Noyes mustered in Oct. 9, 1861 in the Florida Coast Guard, St. Marks, Wakulla County.I am researching a Charles W. Johnson who mustered in at the same time as a 1st Lieutenant under Capt. Noyes. This entry is at: http://files.usgwarchives.org/fl/wakulla/military/cstgrds.txthttp://files.usgwarchives.org/fl/wakulla/military/cstgrds.txt
On the 1860 census for Wakulla County Charles W. Johnson is listed as an engineer with others within the household holding occupations that would correspond with an engineering business. He was born in Pennsylvania and married in Duval County 1850 and moved around the state till early 1900’s to Pinellas County. He always lived in a location with access to the open water and operated a boating business at various times.
The above entry indicates to me that this Capt Noyes was a Union Officer.Does anyone have any further information that would further indentify his crew or to confirm that the mentioned Charles Johnson is the Charles Johnson I am looking for?
Thanks for any information.
