Eileen, Sorry I did have one piece of information you asked about. The First Chapter states John Nowlin was born in Putnam County, New York and he owned a small farm in the Town of Kent, Putnam County, New York; about 60 miles from New York City. Page 8 speaks of his father having a mother, 3 sisters, 1 brother, and an uncle (Griffin Smith) living in Unadilla, New York who they stopped by to see on the way to the Michigan Territory.
