Received information from Mr. Bill Nolen of Waverly, TN that connects
Thomas Nowland, Noland, Nolen to John & William Nolen of Williamson
Co. TN. According to the book, First Families of TN, Thomas Noland
was born circa 1745 in Albemarle Co. VA, died 1787 Davidson Co.
TN, married Anne (unknown), settled Davidson 1783: proof son killed by
Indians.

Thomas Nolen, Noland, Jr. born 1785, Davidson Co. TN, died 1850-60
in Lauderdale Co. AL, married: Sarah Thomas, settled: Davidson Co.
TN 1785, proof: 1850 AL census.

John Nolen born 1744 Albemarle Co. VA is also listed on that page.
The following entry is taken from Tennessee Tidbits, 1778-1914,
Volume I. (Fischer):

Nolin, Thomas - Died before 11 July 1797 when John Nolin was
appointed guardian of Micajah Nolin, Thomas Nolin and Lucy Nolin,
orphans of Thomas Nolin, deceased. (Dav. TN, Co Ct Min. B/413)

Thomas & Micajah are also listed in Enlisted Men, War of 1812, pg.
384-85.
