I am looking for information on my great grandmother's family. My great grandmother was Sarah Ann Nolan. It may be spelled Nowlan according to a tiny photo album we have where it is written on the inside cover as Nowlan.
She was born in England (where unknown) on November 1, 1846.
Her family came to the U.S. sometime before her thirteenth birthday. Her parents were killed in a wagon accident in Indiana or Illinois when she was thirteen.
Sarah married George Washington Burris in 1872, in Champaign County, Illinois. Their first two children were born in Illinois and the third child was born here in California. Sarah died here in 1893 in child birth. Her oldest child, my grandmother was 10.
The photo album we have has 32 photos all unidentified. We feel they may be siblings and other close friends and family members.
If anyone has information on a Sarah Ann Nolan (Nowlan)please contact me, I can share information from Sarah to the present.
