Please refer the attached information on to David Nottage at E-Mail= Dear David,
I notice you are requiring information on the Nottage name in Australia.I'm not sure if I can help but I'll give it a go.
My mother was Kathleen Alice Nottage born Adelaide South Australia 16/8/1908. She Married Denis Edward Moloney in 1949.My mother's Grandfather was George Maskall Nottage and he was one of the original Board of Directors of The South Australian Brewing Company. That Company is now known as Southcorp, reg in South Australia and they have I believe an extensive Achive on the Nottages.I've been meaning to seek some of this information out myself but haven't had time.George Maskall's Grandfather whom he was named after was Mayor of London.I can't tell you the year.My mothers Grandmother Alice Nottage was on the first Inland expedition of John McDouall Stuart who was the first Explorer to travel across Australia from South to North. This after several attempts he finally succeeded in 1863.Alice was the first female to travel into the centre with him as a cook in 1861 . She went as far as Mt Margaret Station, as Stuart considered it was not safe enough for her to travel further as the savagers were unruly ( Meaning the Aborigines as many had not seen a white man before) . I know this info is a little sketchy as both my parents have passed away and I have no other family. I live in Wagga Wagga in N.S.W.and I rarely ever get over to see the clan in S.A.There are Nottages who have car dealerships in Adelaide and I believe these are relatives. Also Doug and Helen Mould's who would be in the Adelaide phone book ,( I don't have their number would know a great deal as Helen is a first cousin to me . She is a Nottage. Hope I have been of some help. Please let me know how you've got on.
