Hello! Donn. I have no idea where the name Nottage came from originally. My 4th Great grandfather married Elizabeth NOTTAGE in Furneux Pelham 1820.
I have had an EM from Edward Nottage he seems to think it comes from Wales as there is a town there called Nottage,
I havent done a great lot of research on the name but you are welcome to what I have. All my work so far is in Essex, Found nothing further away.
Elizabeth Nottage married William Hammond and their daughter Susannah came to Australia with her family 1850's.
Where are you from, do you have research in Essex?
Regards, Vanna
