Franklin Seymour Noatman is my GGgrandfather on my fathers side of my family. He is a noted and much sought after author of countless religious hymns, works of poetry, a poet-correspondent with columns having appeared in the Attica News in 1872, The Arcade Leader, Wyoming County Herald, Wyoming County Times, Wyoming County Tribune, Silver Springs Signal(Aug. 1894), Yorkshire Press(1889, 1890), Sardinia Censor(1890), Holland Review(1890), The Democrat Review(a Warsaw, NY paper, 1892), The Western New Yorker and The Castilian(the above info. was compiled by Doris Bannister of the Wyoming County Historians Office, Warsaw, NY).
Franklin was a well traveled man within Wyoming County and the surrounding areas, where he gathered information from local communities from which he compiled and created News in Rhyme. I am looking for any existing books that he authored and/or co-authored. (1.) "Glimpses of the New Jerusalum," a hymnal for the M.E. Church, and edited by Rev. James Scoville of Elmira, NY. published abt. 1891.
(2.) "Poets of America," published abt. 1890, and included works by Nathan A. Woodward of Batavia, a lawyer, Mary Hall of Attica, and Franklin S. Noatman of N. Java.
(3.) "American Poets," issued from the press of the American Publishers' Association, of Chicago, abt. 1890, may be the same book as item (2.) listed.
I am willing to negotiate a fair price to anyone willing to part with any of these afore-mentioned boooks. Please consult my E-mail: Reedman@eznet.net
