Dear Laura:

I just received the posting of your message about the Noss' in Butler County. I have also come across the various spellings, Knaus etc., but am not certain if my family Anglezied their name after emigrating. If you look through any church records at that time the names Andrew, Catherine, Ida, Charles and Christian were very common and appear quite frequently. I'm sorry if I can't be more helpful, but I would suggest you contact the Harmony Historical Society in Harmony, Butler County, PA. Also check with St. Johns Evang. Lutheran Church, known locally as Burry's Church. They may have more recommendations.

Sincerely,

Terri Lynn Noss-Hagen
