Daniel Norwood was born Jun 1861 in Georgia. Only know his mother’s name - Dicey or Daily G. She was born in Aug 1842 in South Carolina.
Daniel was found in these censuses - in Randolph Co, Ga.
- 1900 married to Sallie E b. Jun 1866 and had children - Jamie b. Aug 1887, Robert P b. Mar 1890, Bertha b. May 1892, Juliette b. Aug 1894, Dannie [dau] b. Aug 1894 - note 1910 census shows that Julia was 2 years older than Dannie and Lee b. May 1899. Living with them was Dicey b. Aug 1842 age 57.
- 1910 married to Cora age 35. Still living with Daniel was Bertha, Julia, Dannie and Robert. Living with them was Pauline, daughter 1 month old and Dicey mother age 66.
- 1920 age 58, he, his father and mother were shown as born in Georgia. Living with Daniel and Cora was Pauline age 12 and Dan T age 8.
- 1930 age 68 living with Cora age 53, Pauline, Dan T Jr. and William L age 9.
If Daniel named his children the tradition way, this would lead me to think his father was Robert, Lee named after Sallie’s father, Dan T Jr. and then there’s William. Daniel was named in his aunt Martha Beach’s Will [posted in April] as taking of his mother - Dicey. Dicey was listed as a Sister-in-law in the Will. Martha also listed a William Norwood as a brother.
I have been thru the 1870 Census for Georgia [on line] and can’t find a child Daniel’s age.
It’s my belief the William Norwood recorded in the 1820 Census in Wilkinson Co, Ga., Is the grandpa for this bunch. Mo on him later. I am still working on a Thomas Norwood who married Nancy Griffin in Wilkinson Co on 28 Sep 1827.
Anybody have in clues? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
