IN THE 1860 CENSUS I found Martha Norwood in the city of Columbus, Lowndes, Mississippi on page one 164. Census was taken in August, 1860 (can't read the day, but I'll find it)

Martha Norwood 45 / F W Value of Real Estate 1000/ born GA
William " 14 / M W born AL
I do believe this is our Martha with her youngest son.
There are a number of Norwood girls who married in Lowndes Co before 1860 but the only one I found with connections was Lucreatia E Norwood married William M Green on 25 May 1856
In 1870 William is living with Lucreatia and William Green.

It looks like Martha has already passed away. The headstone on findagrave.com say 1871.-- But--The headstones are often wrong because the family puts the stone up later and the exact year is forgotten. (Example: my John G Russell Jr stone in Blount County says he died in 1911 but in the 1910 census he wife is already a widow)

I found William George Norwood born 3 Feb 1846 Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa, Alabama died 16 Feb 1905 in Birmingham Jefferson, Alabama he married Martha Amand Phiullips on 2 Apr 1871 in Mississippi
Let me se if I can find her family in the 1880 census

William M Green is also there but no dates, a picture of his stone is on findagrave, says Co I, 43 Miss INF C.S.A Gone but not forgotten Lot 77
An infant of William Green is also buried there in lot 77
Bertie Norwood Birth (not listed) death Dec 5, 1889 (daughter of W G Norwood)
