Hello< I am researching my husband's ancestral line. Looking for information on his gr.gr.grandmother Kari Johnsdtr, who was born about 1845 in Hadeland. She married Ove Oveson Boe in 1863.(Ove is from Valdres, Norway and arrived in Decorah Iowa in 1861).Kari mentioned as his wife in the Valdres Lag membership of 1904as coming from Hadeland. This is all we know about her. This couple had 6 sons and three daughters. We are able to trace land transactions and cenus records up to 1889 in MN and North Dakota, but after 1889, Kari or (Carrie) is no longer mentioned. Ove is widowed in the 1895 Roseau, MN cenus and has lived there for 2 1/2 years with the two youngest children. So something has happened to Carrie between 1889 and 1893. All US census records have Kari listed as being aprox. 6 years younger than her husband. What I find strange, is that in all the informaton given to the valdres lag memberships by the family's 6 sons, there is nothing mentioned about their mother, Carrie!! If I could find an accurate birth date for Kari, I could trace her origins in Norway.I was not able to find a marriage record in Iowa. I would appreciate Any help or suggestions. Sincerely, Carol Notify Administrator about this message?
