She was born and christened in Valdres. Valdres is a traditional region in Oppland which included the districts of Etnedal, Nord-Aurdal (where Ulnes parish is located), Sør-Aurdal, Vang, Vestre Slidre, and Østre Slidre. She didn't have to go anywhere to already be in Valdres.

If you've found WHEN and where her mother was born then you should be able to research what other family she had living in the area. You might also find Karoline's confirmation record in the parish church books and it MIGHT mention who she was living with then.
