Thank you so much for your help. The clue I spoke of was the possible birthplace of Gjertrud.
Johan's son Ferdinand was my 2nd great-grandfather. I've seen the message from John Brathen & tried to reply, but never received a response. I communicate with my relatives in Norway but none of them can find where Johan was born. I think one census said he was from Copenhagen.
I've found so many possible clues, like:
Ferdinand's sister-in-law married Christian Fenger, who was a famous surgeon in Denmark. Ferdinand named his son Christian Fenger(Martini).
Some of the Danish parish records are unable to read, but I've searched through alot of them, with no luck.
