OK so your goal is to find where the JMM was born.
I think you have to look outside the country, the only education for surgeons in the Kingdom of Denmark-Norway was located in Copenhagen at the time.
Others have looked for JMM. Here are a few links to discussion forums.

A person claims to know that JMM first came to the silver mines of Kongsberg from Copenhagen and then moved to the cobalt mines in Modum.
The eldest son was born in Kongsberg and the rest in Modum.

Buskerud fylke, Kongsberg, Ministerialbok nr. 6 (1783-1797), Fødte og døpte 1784, side 14.

Can not find name Martini among the list of sponsors and it may indicate that the family of JMM residing far away.

According to the census of 1801 JMM was born about 1742.

Please also note the wife's surname Nilsdtr which is a patronymic, meaning that her father's first name was Niels and we know that the family name is Krojer so now we know that the father of Gertrude name was Niels Krojer or Krøger or Kreuger.
Can not find the couple among the married in Kongsberg at the time.

I think this person with the same profession (surgeon) and the same last name as JMM and first name of his eldest son is interesting.

He can hardly be an older brother because the father of Ferdinand, named Peter, and was also surgeon died in 1739.
I would suggest that you ask on a Danish forum.
It's Printed sources of all Danish students from the time which maybe someone can help you find information from.
