You are a wealth of knowledge. Thank you again and again. I've known some of what you've sent but not enough to use it. This is wonderful.
We've been to several of the central states. A couple years ago we were in Mountain View AR and really wanted to move there. We have too much here in WA so couldn't make a move. Maybe someday.
Thanks for all your interest. I'm going to print all the information and organize it so I'll be able to utilize it. We have the Pacific Lutheran University not far from us and they have a full section of Norwegian collections. With this, maybe I'll know enough to go over and use some of the materials.
Going over some of my notes I've found a couple inconsistancies regarding Ole Olsen Drevdahl. According to 2 of my aunts, Harriet Anna Katrine Drevdahl (my grandmother), was left in Norway when Inga came here because her father (Ole Drevdahl) wouldn't let her come until she had her formal education. That she was with her father and he was a ships captain and owner of a fleet of ships. It's appearing that isn't true. Now to find out who she (all 3 kids) was living with, maybe her grandparents? Inga came over in 1888 by herself and it appears Ole came earlier. I'd like to know the truth if possible. Inga left her 3 children when she came over. Leif Thorbjorn Drevdahl came in 1893; Nils Fredrik Sevarin Drevdahl came over 1901 and Harriet in 1900. They settled in their step father, Sverre Fredericks, home. I've often wondered why she would come over here without her children.
