I noticed you list Winston of Mason Co, [W]VA as a son of James (son of Spencer Norvell and Frances Hill).
This James did not have a son named Winston.
James, son of Spencer, died April 1845 in Jessamine Co, Ky. His probate records name only one living son, Lorenzo; however, this Lorenzo is not the one found in Mason Co, Va[WVA] records. James did have a son James Jr. who is named in his father's 26 Oct. 1835 POA to him regarding the estate of James Sr.'s father Spencer Norvell (Jessamine Co Ky., Isbell vs Norvell, File Box 19, Jessamine Co courthouse). James Jr. was deceased by the time his father died.
The James Norvell in the 1820 Mason Co, Va census is not James, s/o of Spencer as he is in the 1820 Woodford Co, Ky., tax list. Winston may be a son of the 1820 Mason Co James, but he is not the son of James, son of Spencer.
