Here is the line:

Captain Hugh Norvell of Williamsburg

GEORGE NORVELL (born ca. 1693 -died April 5, 1786 ) son of Caprtain Hugh, lived in St. Paul's Parish about 12 miles from Richmond.

JAMES NORVELL, son of George, (born ca. 1713 -died March 20, 1789) served as a soldier in the Colonial Wars in 1758. He received payment for his services in Lunenberg in 1758.

SPENCER NORVELL, son of James page 21, (born ca. 1747 in Hanover County -died August 2, 1829 Amherst County, Virginia) married Frances Hill (she died before 1829) on February 22, 1770 in Goochland County.

NATHANIEL NORVELL (born March 7, 1772, Virginia -died 1870, Holt County, Missouri) married March 25, 1794 Nancy Ann Carvin.

John "Jack" Norvell, son of Nathaniel, (born December 10, 1810, Claiborne County, Tennessee -died April 11, 1886, Holt County, Missouri) married September 6, 1837 Mary "Polly" Jasper (born 1820 -died July 4, 1852), the daughter of Achilles Jasper and Sarah "Sally" Harris. John married 2d Sophronia Ann Harris, March 15, 1853, Holt County, Missouri.

Lipscomb would be the first cousin twice removed of her husband John "Jack" Norvell.

Lipscomb descends from George
