Interesting. There was a Samuel Norton who was a druggist in Leavenworth, Kansas before the Civil War. He had a brother named Miles who was married to Abigail Sherwood from Oneida, New York. Abigail's father, John P Sherwood married Alice Hopkins after Abigail Sherwood's mother died in 1822. Some accounts have John P Sherwood dying in Erie County New York in 1872.
