In reading the letter more closely, a William (Northrup?) is mentioned in the portion of the letter written by Pamelia as working 18 hours a day at a grist mill. This could be Pamelia's husband. I have found with Google that a William Northrup came to Livingston County Michigan in 1836 from Sullivan, Madison County New York and settled there near a village latter named Oak Grove. The letter is addressed to Brigport, Madison County, New York. I found also that a Mrs. William Northrup died in 1837 and was burried there. With this information, I would like to know if William's wife was indeed Pamelia B. Northrup and the exact date of her death in 1837. If so, it narrows the possible date of the letter and places the origin.
