Help Needed: Northrup family near Howell, Michigan in 1840s

I have a late 1830's or early 1840's letter from Pamelia B. Northrup (has small daughter named Mary) and Charlotte Northrup to their mother/sister Polly Adams (husband Joseph Adams) in Bridgport, New York. The letter is undated and specific location of the family is unknown but based on the postmark, should be near Howell and Brighton, Michigan. According to the letter they have been in this location less than a year at this point in time. I would appreciate help in determining exactly where Pamelia and Charlotte were living and approximate date family first arrived there. Many thanks in advance.
