Hi Ms Northrop,

Joseph Northrop joined the church in Milford, Ct. approx 1638-Married Mary Norton. Their son Samuel married ? and their son was Amos Northrop the first. He moved to New Milford and married Mary Gunn in 1713. She remarried a Pratt after his death. Amos 11 purchased a large tract of land in New Milford and lived his life out there. Amos the third born in 1741 married Anna Grant. HE graduated Yale college and was a captain and recruiter for George Washington--see Mary Northrop on google. Amos died of a disease caught while fighting the war. His son Amos the fourth married Hannah Elderkin of Rocksbury. Their son Grant married Rebecca Ann Camp, daughter of Enos Camp the fourth. Aaron Burr and President Grant are in the Northrop family tree as well as Gov Treat of Connecticut. The common thread in Milford, Ct. The old Gunn house was located not far from Roxbury center. The Mayflower line goes back to John Howland who married The Tilley's daughter( all three were on the Mayflower)I hope this information is useful.--Glenn Glennon
