I am a descendent of the Hosea and Olive Northrup line, although their daughter (also named Olive, married to Tom Potter) somehow morphed into a “Northup”. I have her Family Bible and she is noted as Olive Northup, although the marriage license is spelled "Northrop".
I was hitting a wall during my research and then started to play with the spelling of the last name – Northup/Northrup/Northrop. That’s when I began to make progress. (I do have info on children and can follow the line down to me. I also have Olive Northup/Potter/Enright's obituary [1898]).
