I am trying to fill in some of the blanks in the family genealogy.
I haven't been able to find the parents of Amos Northrop. I would appreciate any information that could link Amos with the Joseph Northrup line? My mother's notes indicate that many records were missing or destroyed at Chatham Town Hall.
here are a few more details on Amos:
Amos Northrop B 1/8/1778 Chatham, NY (probably) D 5/16/1858 Warren, CT (?) age 80
(??multiple marriages ?? or a different Amos in 1820 census 5 in family Kent)
and on his son Alvin:
Alvin Northrop B 4/15/1803 Chatham, NY D 11/29/1875 (age 72) Westport, CT buried at Fairfield East #992, married 7/2/1826 in Kent, CT by Rev LP Hickox, brother Gerrit B. ? born 8/9/1812 Chatham (Kent 1830 census shows an Alvin with 3 in family) . Alvin was a shoemaker at Kent CT.
