Yourd, Uerr, Euwer
Uerr/Yourd/Euwer in unknown Ireland county.
Archibald Yourd/Euwer/Uerr of Ireland had three known children:
1. Patrick Yourd/Euwer of whom nothing more is known.
2. John Euwer born ca. 1766 (name said to have been originally Yourd).
3. Samuel Uerr (spelled Uerr &Yourd in his 1851 will) born Ireland.
On the last page of Malachi in a family Bible printed in Edinburgh in 1787:
"Samuel Uerr landed in New York the __ of Jouly 1800"
There is, however, some evidence that Samuel Uerr/Yourd was in the USA prior to this date and served during the American Revolutionary War. The following is from an account of a family reunion in Allegheny County, PA: "About the time of the Revolutionary War John and Samuel Euwer built their forest houses on Plum creek, in what is now Plum township of this county." Samuel Uerr/Yourd is buried in Beulah Churchyard in Allegheny County, PA and his grave is decorated with a flag for Revolutionary War service.
