1841 Shipwreck
According to my GG Uncles obituary, he and his family departed by ship to Canada in 1841. To quote his obit "... when but a day at sea they were shipwrecked but all managed to land safely at Belfast and later another sailing ship was boarded and the trip to Montreal was made in safety after several weeks at sea".
Does anyone have a lead to locating the ship that sunk and the one that sailed?
Does anyone know what other port of departure might have been used such that survivers might have ended up in Belfast? The family probably started from in County Armagh, perhaps in Armagh or in the townland of Drumcree.
Thank you for any help you may be able to provide.
Respectfully,
