I have been researching the McGowan (Magowan)family for years and have collected quite a bit, a lot I haven't been able to connect to my families in County Down - William Hanna and Julia Mulholland Magowan and James and Lydia Hanna Loughlin. However, I do have a James Magowan, born 10/25/1688 in Holywood, daughter of Hugh Magowan and Mary Agnew. She's married to James William McKee and I show four children, Bill, Wesley, Marshall, and George, but no other specifics. I have no direct sources listed, so I must have seen this info on other family inquiries such as yours. Hope this helps a little. Would appreciate any info on my Magowans and Loughlins if you come across any.
