Tracing Murphys that emigrated from Antrim area.
Anyone have any info. on the simplest (I'm a newbie to all this) way to try to track down family that may still exist in N. Ireland?
I have traced my family back as far as those that arrived in Canada from the Antrim area.
It was about 1820'ish, unclear exactly when they left, and they took their time getting land after arriving.
As far as I can tell, it was two brothers, Andrew & Robert Murphy, they emmigrated with a younger sister, name unknow, and it is unclear if they came over with any other family or even parents. I believe they were in their late teens or early 20' when they arrived, since they didn't arrive with children, they had them here.
I am told the 3 that came ere were the oldest children of a larger family, the parents and younger children were to come over later, for an unknown reason that never happened.
I am now trying to find relatives in N. Ireland.
If it helps any it was a protestant family.
Any help will be gratefully accepted.
