Hi
I am looking for any info on the McGowan family.
Hugh McGowan married Mary Agnew February 26, 1864 in County Down, Northern Ireland.
Their first child was Jane McGowan who was born on October 25th, 1866 in Holywood, County Down, Northern Ireland. At this point I am not sure if Hugh & Mary had more children, I do believe they did, maybe a son John who owned a garage in Bangor…..this is just here-say at the moment. And maybe another sister.
Jane would marry James William McKee at St. Anne’s Cathedral in Belfast, Down, N Ireland. They had four boys, Bill, Wesley and twins George & Marshall of Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland. (Bangor is just down the road from Belfast)
The McKee's went to visit a Uncle's family in Carbondale Penn. USA in 1913 and the family lived at 20 Spencer Street in Carbondale. On the ships records it states that an "Uncle's son William John Addley" would be picking them up.
I am looking for any further information on the McGowan or Agnew family. It is known that there were heart problems in the family line and Jane died from heart complications. As well as doing a family history, I am also working on the family genetics as a big part of the history.
I can be reached at [email protected]
Thank you,
