WILLIAMSes in Coleraine
Hello:I'm trying to trace a CHARLES WILLIAMS b.1840 who gives his birthplace on the 1881 Census and his Marriage Cert. simply as "Ireland".He was a bookbinder journeyman and later a bookbinder.
On the 1901 Census I find only one "Charles Williams b.Ireland" and he is described as General Journalist Author with birthplace "Ireland Coleraine", and living at this time in Precinct of Savoy, London.
Charles' father was JOHN WILLIAMS, a paper stainer, and given their seeming affinity with the printing trade, I had assumed they might have originated in the Dublin area - with no way of proving it!
I would love to hear from anyone with knowledge of a Williams family in Coleraine, or anywhere else that people engaged in their sort of work might have lived. Also, can anyone tell me anything about Coleraine - I see it's on the north coast and imagine it's a quite beautiful area.
Many thanks for your time.
Renee.
