The spelling of the name is variable. Lorimer is the commonest followed by Larimer and Lormer. The name is found in the Ards peninsula and south Down. Lowramer is another variant spelling. You might start by looking up the Donaghadee Tithe Aplotments 1834-5 and see if anyone with the name is listed. If not they may have moved away or emigrated. I believe there are still Lorimers in Donaghadee who might know some family history. They should show up in the N.Ireland phone directory
The Public Record Office in Belfast has the Donaghadee Parish Church Index. Baptismal Index 1771-1845, Marriage Index 1772-1844 and Burial Index 1771-1841. You have to read these in PRONI or pay someone to do it for you. The Ulster Historical Foundation I believe would take this on.
Another avenue is the North of Ireland Family History Society. If a member they will print your search in their magazine, "North Irish Roots". You could type in lorimer donaghadee and see how many of that name are presently listed. In the 18th. and 19th.C's the spelling of names was not at all standardised.
