Hi Cathy:Saw your enquiry. Our Lees are from Dunamoney, Magherafelt in mid-Ulster, Ireland. Our Lees emigrated to Canada around 1832 and lived in Carleton County. They too were granted land near the Rideau Canal and I think I recall seeing a map showing the Fentons and Browns near them. Our Margaret Lees married a John Spratt and had a daughter, Jane Spratt, born in Gloucester Township, Ontario (near Ottawa), Canada, 26 June 1844, baptized 3 Sept 1844 at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Bytown (early name for Ottawa).I noted your mention of an Andrew Spratt Lee.Our Lees were all Presbyterians, and children were baptized in Magherafelt 1st Presbyterian Church, Londonderry.Any connection, do you think? Will provide more info if you think positive.
Kind regards
Margaret Lee
