looking for info for child of John S. Northern b. 1858 to 1861? and Alice Burchell b. 1861-1863. children listed in 1880 census are james, William, sarah j., Lilley (Lillie Mae),Abraham. family migrated to New madrid Mo. area
Particularly interested in Lilie Mae b. 1890. She had 2 boys Thomas William born 1907/ Kentucky, and Albert henry b. 1910 Mo. need clarification of father to both boys. her obit shows her widowed to a Willie Patton and then remarried to Albert Strother in 1926. Not known if obit info is accurate. Believe I have found her on a 1910 census married to an Eli Parks and this would place Parks as being Albert's bio father. Marraige date to Park(per census)is out of range for him to be Thomas' father.I find info for Eli Parks who came from same area of Ky. and later remarried an Eva back in Ky. Familair surnames include Mannus/Manis/ Northern in Parks family records.
second marraige to Patton in 1916. spouse listed as W O Patton, 1920 census listed as Riley O. Patton Boys took surname of step father Patton in all records I find on them except the 1910 census. In this census she is living next door to her sister Jennie Perkins (confirmed to be Sarah J. Northern). believe him to be Wylie Oscar Patton who indeed did not die, but must have divorced as he is also shown in records/ family trees remarried and back in Ky. No mention of Lille or the boys on anything latter I find on him. Notably all trees are missing the 1920 census. he had brothers who lived in the Be Madrid area as well.
Thomas married a Johnnye Lorene Smith- they migrated to Pinellas Florida. descendents I have been in contact with lead me to Lille's surname of Northern. They know nothing of who Patton was except he was adopted/step father. They have included a possible surname of Mitchell as being Thomas father.
Albert later married Mary Ellen Helms, daughter of James William and Edna Ida (Shafer) Helms. Family history is sketchy. They had children Edna Mae, Mary Jane, William Henry, James Louis, Gretta Sue, Frank Ray, Joann, & Rosemary. Divorced-he later married Daisy Vaughn. Albert died in 1967. Albert lived In New Madrid, Sikeston area and St. Louis all his life. His death certificate and SS record list unknown parents. Died in Charleston, Missippi Co. Missouri. His daughter Edna Mae and some siblings are still living. Enda is my children's grandmother. She states Albert was a full blooded Indian. She, My children and their father show very strong American Indian features. No one seems to be able to provide any further info. Family seems to have not been very close. Desperately wanting to complete my children's family tree. Any info no matter great or small is very appreciated. Also, Albert was a farmer on cotton farm owned by Mr. Proffer. Any help appreciated. thinking of looking into DNA testing/research.
